We are a community of believers committed to loving God, growing in faith, and serving others. Our mission is to share the hope of Jesus Christ with everyone in Ormsby Heights and beyond. Ormsby Heights Baptist Church is a place where people from all walks of life can come together to worship, learn, and grow. Whether you are new to faith, exploring spirituality, or looking for a church home, you will find a welcoming family here. With a legacy of over 120 years in Louisville, Kentucky, our church has remained faithful to its mission of sharing the Gospel, nurturing spiritual growth, and serving others.

We hold to the teachings of the Bible as the inspired Word of God. We believe in salvation through Jesus Christ, the power of prayer, and living a life that reflects God’s love and grace. Our beliefs align with the Baptist Faith & Message 2000.

The sole basis for all our beliefs is the Bible: which is uniquely God-inspired, without error, and the final authority on all matters to which it speaks. The Bible teaches there is one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, each possessing all the attributes of deity.

We believe that God created humans to have fellowship with Him, but they defied God by sinfully going their own way. As a result, we need God's saving grace to end our alienation from God. Salvation comes only through God's grace-not human effort-and must be received personally by repentance and faith.

We believe that Jesus Christ lived a sinless life on earth. He voluntarily died on the cross as our substitute. He paid the penalty of sin for every person who will turn away from their sin and trust Him for their salvation. He was buried in a tomb and on the third day, He rose from the dead. He is now at the right hand of the Father interceding for us. He is the only mediator between sinful humanity and Holy God. We believe one day soon He will return as the conquering King of all kings and Lord of all lords.
